At the start of October, the kitchen was still completely off limits.
Still, you have to make the best of not having any facilities, right?
We enjoyed cuddling up on the sofa. While we could still use our front room...
I remember when she used to be this excited about Shopkins and Lego.
Looks like Lily has joined the crew.
Maybe having an extra member would help them get the job finished sooner. Cough.
On the last day of term, Daddy took Lily to school early. We sussed the bus route. And also the best cafe nearby for a sausage sandwich before the bell goes.
As Lily headed into her half term holiday, there was till just enough good weather to enjoy a wander along the seafront.
Here's a grown up girl ready to hit the town.
With Halloween coming up, it was time for some cree-pay make up.
And spooky fun at Adventure Island.
Speaking of horror stories, Lily pitched in to help with the dining room ceiling.
I have a feeling Sammy might not be winning.
This year's pumpkin selection, ready to be transformed.
First job, scoop out their braaaaaaaiiiiiiins...
To get the floor down, we had to move all the furniture out the way. So we didn't have a lounge any more. But we had plenty of space.
Here's the look for Halloween 2018. A kind of Mexican Death Mask complete with stick on bling and battery powered lights.
I'm not sure which is scarier - Lily or the state of our house.
Those lights in action.
I think that's Holly under there. At least, I hope it is.
Here are the finished pumpkins all lit up and adorning the masonry supplies in our front garden.
Lily and Mummy braved some vile weather to come and see Daddy in London.
We warmed up with plates of Greek food on the Southbank.
Then enjoyed a cultural interlude at The Tate Modern. The Clock was an amazing film that used clips of times appearing in films as a real time clock. We went in at about ten to two and saw bits from movies that all had clocks in showing ten to two, two up to ten past two etc.
Still not finished. In fact, less and less of downstairs was useable any more.
So we ended up all living in the double bed upstairs, just like Charlie Bucket.
She's an angel. Most of the time.
This was probably the lowest point of the project, which I refer to as the Blair Witch stage.
But never mind, there were fireworks lighting up the sky outside.
Speaking of skies, check out this amazing painting Lily did of the new Doctor Who.
A few days later, we'd gone from dust and darkness to light and hope. This is our kitchen with all the glazing fitted.
There's still no power or facilities. But Mummy strung up some fairy lights, lit some candles and we were able to enjoy the first meal at our new breakfast bar.
This is the same space as the Blair Witch picture above.
What's this now? Oh this is getting silly. A fourth Blue Peter badge, this time for sporting achievements.
Lily checked in on Marley.
And sent a message to Daddy.
As I say, most of the time she's a real angel, but sometimes she can be a bit of a Mona.
Here are some of the new friends she's made at High School. Good to see that despite the cold weather, tons of homework and building work, she's still smiling.
