Summer break.

The second school rules no longer applied, Lily's summer holiday began with a second piercing.

We headed to Norfolk and hung out in Thorpe.

You can't beat a Hungry Horse.

We wanted to see Dippy the dinosaur but the queues were longer than her neck.

So we looked around part of the cathedral instead which was still a pretty cool excursion.

Looking out over Norwich from the top of Mousehold Heath.

Back home, we converted the shed into a cinema.

And enjoyed catching up with an old friend. (The door was loose and kept randomly thudding against the wall. Which all added to the ambience!)

We set out on a little ramble up to Hadleigh Castle.

By the top of the hill, she was ruined.

A couple of quick poses for snaps...

...then we sat and ate a picnic looking out over the Estuary.

Next day, we headed into that there London.

The National Gallery was running a special event.

They had a whole load of easels set up so people could just come along and enjoy making art.

Lily got involved.

The artist at work.

Lily sketched away for thirty minutes (with quite a few people stopping to look over her shoulder).

She created this fab rendering of St Martin In The Fields, which you can see behind her.

And while we were so close to the National...

Lots of famous artists on display. Like this one ear.

Even the hallway decoration was a work of art, created by Bridget Reilly.

Back to Norfolk for a lovely stay with Nana and Papa.

Lily's nearly as tall as them now.

We had a lovely walk around the village.

And stopped off to try out the new outdoor exercise equipment.

Back home, Lily queued up for a kilo sale.

I think she was happy with her purchase.

We are lucky to be able to wander down to the seafront whenever we fancy it.

Quick trip to Chelmsford to stock up on books from the charity shop.

At the end of the month, Lily got all dressed up.

In fact, we all got dressed up.

The occasion was Thomas and Kayla's long-awaited wedding.

Due to lockdown, it had been postponed a couple of times. But almost a year after it was first supposed to take place, we got together to celebrate with them. And dance the night away (well, Jim certainly did).

Hope they're as happy and as blessed as we are, fifteen years on.

We had a fab time. And kept an eye back home thanks to Cat Cam.
