Crikey, January seems to go on for a long time. Fortunately, that meant we could pack lots of adventures in. But first, time for some lazy hanging out.

We all watched The Queen's Gambit and Lily became quite taken with Beth Harmon. First, she did this fab drawing.
Then, she captured Beth's look in a different way.
So, big news. Literally. As of January 2021, Lily is officially taller than Mummy. YIKES.
More girls hanging out time.
To make sure we differentiate weekends from Lockdown weekdays, we've been trying to create special events. This meant Lily received mystery envelopes on a Thursday night revealing the activities.
This one was camping in the front room. Mummy ingeniously repurposed the garden parasol.
She hung some long drapes of fabric down the sides, filled it with duvets and pillows and strung it up with fairy lights.
We had some 'help' with the interior...
Ta-da! A homemade glamping experience.
It was very cool indeed. We enjoyed an evening of drinks and roast chicken, listening to our favourite music.
We even had a campfire.
We slept under this lovely canopy roof which was all lit up.
Next morning there was evening coffee seved in takeaway cups.
Lily used some Christmas money to buy this whopper set of Prismacolour pencils.
She's putting them to very good use.

She's a business woman, ready to do business.
She's been getting into her music. Possibly the most balanced indicator of our individual influence as parents is that Lily has been learning to play Arctic Monkey riffs on the bass guitar.
We've been going out for walks as our daily exercise.
While the rest of the country has been buried in snow, the nearest we managed was this Saturday afternoon hailstorm.
It turned things sort of white for a little while.
Another Thursday, another envelope. This one - for a Roller Disco!
First, we had to dress appropriately.
Then we had to go see the skate hire attendant.
Then we were rolling up and down to eighties music, complete with disco lights.
We cleared a long strip right the way through the ground floor.
That's literally how we roll, yo.
We even challenged ourselves with a slalom...
...and a limbo.

It was superb fun. Not sure we can beat that one.
Lily kept the fun going by taking her skates out into the park in the week.
