Last year's annual post laid down a challenge for this year's adventures. So how did they shape up? We started with Lily's first football match attendance, watching Southend United at Roots Hall.
Feb brought absolute blizzards. And street races!
We scoured the streets of Southend in search of clues to a killer's identity.
And jumped in a photobooth at Nick and Jennifer's wedding.
We followed an Easter trail to the end of the pier.
Lily visited the theatre to stick it to the man.
We made the best of good weather in our garden.
And took a cultural trip to The National Gallery.
We went back to Barbados (after some passport fun and games).
Lily turned 11.
We got back into vinyl.
Lily started going to gigs. Her first was Taylor Swift at Wembley, no less.
She even gave a couple of performances herself, singing at The Palace Theatre and playing guitar at The Cliffs Pavillion.
We spent a night or two in our shed.
We had a visit from the Parkers.
Naturally, we went to the seafront a few times. Here, Lily is passed by a boat...
...here, she's rowing one.
She contributed some fab painted stones to the annual Bee Line.
And ventured to the walkways above Tower Bridge.
Before exploring the depths of the London Aquarium.
We visited Aunty Laura in The 'Diff.
Then it was time for big school.
Lily's costume lit up Halloween.
She became the recipient of two more Blue Peter badges.
Our house went through a big change.
The weeks of washing up in the bath were all worth it.
She practised her bass playing.
And revisited the Tower ice rink.
We spent Christmas in Norfolk.
And despite feeling poorly, managed to stay up to see the New Year in.
Not bad, 2018. Not bad at all.
