Pack it in.

As well as our adventures glamping and cavorting on Clacton beach, we managed to fit quite a lot of other stuff into our week off together. We went to see a movie and visited a local zoo called Tropical Wings.

The first part of the zoo features a hothouse butterfly enclosure.

It's a 'free fly zone' and there are literally butterflies flitting all around you, everywhere.

It had a fantastic 'hands on' approach and encouraged you to interact with the animals.

We saw some real wallabies, who were very cute. Oh, and this one.

Lily also got to grips with a digger.

Here it is in action.

There was even a play area. It was surprising quite how big and how much stuff there was to do there.

Then we held a sports day in the garden.

Lily created obstacle courses that generally involved skipping and trampolines to put us all through our paces.

Lily was the sole entrant in the double hula event.

In the evening, we went for a lovely Thai meal together.

And we even had an evening paddle on the way home.

For Sunday lunch, we headed down to Old Leigh.

We enjoyed a jacket potato, crab sandwiches and a plate of big fat juicy prawns.

Again, Lily couldn't resist a paddle.

Then the ladies enjoyed a spa afternoon.

It's nice here. We live here. And it pretty much feels like a holiday all the time.
