One we made earlier.

One of Lily's favourite programmes is the Blue Peter Olympic Tour, that has been following the torch around the country for the past couple of months. Well, we applied for a couple of tickets to attend the live show when it came to Newham – and we were lucky...

Daddy was rather glad it was only a half hour show. If anyone would care to rub his shoulders for him, they're still ablaze with agony.

Look, there's Barney the presenter!

Blue Peter was only part of the attraction. Newham was having a big celebration to welcome the Olympic torch as it passed through the park. Wenlock was there...

...and there were lots of fun things to play on.

You can't go wrong with a bouncy castle.

The park was full of stalls, tents and rides.

These guys were called Story Cloud. First, they narrated stories to children in their marquee. Then it was the children's turn to come up with something.

Lily created a tale about a princess who was taken prisoner by a talking skeleton. (Her skeleton was absolutely brilliant.)

Across from all this was an artificial beach called Newham On Sea. We went down an old fashioned helter skelter, then Lily went for a paddle in the rock pool...

...and a dig in the sand.

Here's Captain Boo, plundering the seven seas.

Finally, when we got home, we watched the Blue Peter show we'd attended. And spotted some familiar faces a few seconds into the show's opening.
