It's been waiting for you.

We got up early and headed to Gatwick.

Spot who had two wines on the flight.

We were picked up by a passenger service and taken to our hotel...

...with a rooftop pool and a view of the Empire State.

We wasted no time in getting out to see the sights. Lily wanted to see the Chelsea Hotel.

The site of many rock 'n roll goings on.

Then we headed over to Times Square. Grabbing a feww slices of pizza on the way back.

It was a hot old week.

We kept topping up on icy drinks as we wandered all round the city.

Who you gonna call?

We found Liberty Bagels.

Then jumped on the Staten Island Ferry to see the lady herself.

There she is.

Great view of the skyline too.

Candid shot of Lily in the liquor store.

We went up to Bryant Park for the open air cinema. Few drops of rain, nothing too bad (and the $10 brolly made it all the way back to the UK)

Stand By Me!

Next day, we traversed the Brooklyn Bridge.

More amazing views.

Over the other side is DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and it's pretty fabulous.

Has its own little beach.

And we enjoyed brunch in the Time Out Marketplace.

On the way back, Lily made several purchases in Barnes and Noble.

After resting are feet, we took a quick look round Grand Central Station.

Then we really got up to summit.

92 floors up at the One Vanderbilt.

Two Lilys?

Dozens of all of us!

As the sun went down, the show began.

We got involved with the interactive experience.

It was a hit, to say the least.

They're everywhere (they certainly were after Daddy kept loading them onto the fans).

The views of the city at night were breathtaking.

Then we stood in the skybox - a glass floor, suspending us high above the streets.

Lily was into it.

Following day we headed all the way up 5th Avenue.

Lily's next port of call - The Met steps.

Pretty sure she's going to get invited back here some day.

From there, we made our way round Central Park.

It was pretty amazing - and absolutely massive.

How will she know...?

We weren't expecting the locals to be so friendly.

Our evening took us to Rockerfeller Plaza.

And a look round FAO Schwarz.

Then it was dinner at Bill's.

Loved our stacxk of sliders, wings and fries.

On our final day, we went down to Greenwich Village.

We (eventually) found Cornelia Street.

She'd never walk down Cornelia Street again.

Just round the corner, we found Joe's and had slices of the thinnest pizza imaginable.

Lily said our holiday was going 'everywhere Spider-Man touched'. And she wasn't wrong.

We stopped off to make Lego versions of ourselves.

Then had one last dip in the pool.

We bid a fond (and strangely Calypso-backed) farewell to New York City. What an utterly, utterly brilliant family holiday.
