What. A. Whirlwind.
Let's start at the beginning with a change of locks for a change of looks.
Lily took her new blue hair to a party. Dottie was keen to join in the fun.
Mummy and Lily sample the new frozen pineapple Margarita recipe.
As part of a little family mini break, we headed into London on the train.
First stop, bubble tea in Chinatown.
Then on to the recently reopened National Portrait Gallery.
Art goggles on, Lily had a good look round.
And while we were there, it would have been rude not to nip round to the National itself.
It hammered down in the afternoon, but we still had a fab time sloshing through the puddles to a bookshop and a Ben's Cookies.
A couple of days later, we met up with Lily after work and she showed us round.
We went up the big wheel.
And round the mini golf.
Then enjoyed a car pizza party - and all with a staff discount.
One last summer beach day with The Peoples.
Then we headed off to Norfolk. Where all the cool kids hang out.

We spent a couple of hours on a Bishy Barney Boat.
Fab weather and such a lovely little adventure.
We'd been before - but in the other direction. this time we floated into the city. It really was magical going right through Norwich on the river.
Totally in control. Cough.
Nanny Rachel came for a visit (and a Good Omens 2 marathon).
Nice little trip to Morley's for a few plants and a look round.
Then Lily went in to bracelet manufacturing overdrive...
... to go with the badges and hat she'd made.
All ready for Gunnersbury Park and boygenius.
Looks like Phoebe is checking out Lily's bracelets.
It really was a brilliant gig and ended with an unforgettable explosion of guitars, love and fireworks.
Lily had spent quite a bit of her summer job money at the merch stand.
Then - it was GCSE results day. Here is the very moment Lily opened her envelope to see what she'd got.
She even got interviewed by a local reporter. And learned not to believe everything you read in the press.
She did BRILLIANTLY. Maths 9, Art 9, Geography, 9, English Language 8, Physics 8, Biology 7, Chemistry 7, Spanish 7, English Lit 6. Though not sure if she was happiest with her results, or Skeleton Bob who was waiting for her in the glove compartment.
Okay. This was the BIG flurry. On the 18th we got an offer on our house. On the 19th, we got a higher offer on our house. And on the 23rd we had an offer accepted on the house Lily is pointing at. Fingers crossed it all goes ahead smoothly...
By the way, the reason she was there is after a very disappointing meeting at Norwich City College where the head of A levels flatly refused to entertain that a student could switch having moved house a few months in. Though we note by the end of the month she no longer works there... stay tuned.
Just when we thought August couldn't possibly be more of a rollercoaster, Lily went to a Billie Eilish pop up event in London.
She had a good look round and bought a T shirt. The lady who served her rather pointedly asked for Lily's email address to hear future Billie news...
Guess where we couldn't keep away from?
We'd been given permission to take a look round the property we've (hopefully) bought. And just went to hang out - literally - for half an hour.
So. Lily did indeed get emailed Billie news. A surprise intimate gig, only for fans who'd been to the pop up event.
Mummy and Lily headed off to Camden, and a venue that only holds 1500 people.
But that's not all. Not only were they at an ultra exclusive gig. Not only were they closer to Billie Eilish than you could ever imagine. Billie called out some guests to sing with her. And it was the boys.
If you listen closely, you'll hear some familiar voices. And I don't just mean on the song.
To say it was overwhelming is an understatement. But... that's how August rolled this year.
