Fired up.

As the temperature drops and the nights draw in, Lily and Daddy took possibly the last opportunity this year to have a picnic lunch in the park.

You can also tell winter will be soon upon us because Strictly is back.

What's going on here...?

Lily and Mummy headed into town on a train.

And Lily made some lovely cupcakes.

How cute are these?

The cupcakes were a special present for Lydia, to say thank you for looking after Lily.

Lily bought Mummy a home spa gift set for her birthday.

And they shared a slice of cakey.

Sadly, Daddy was at work, so missed out on the cake. But Mummy and Lily sent him lovely photos throughout the day, like this one.

Lily's first homework of her new school year was based around the Mayan culture. One option was to create a mayan temple in Minecraft. Which Lily did, and captured in this cute documentary...

Her next task was to recreate Mayan cuisine. Which she did by baking some spicy Mayan chocolate cookies.

Yum. Lily took them in to share with her classmates. I don't remember homework being this much fun...

Homebase was looking rather empty, but somebody made the most of it.

But Mummy and Lily found what they were looking for just up the road.

This is our new thing. We had the chimney swept and bought a little grate, so we can enjoy a real fire this winter.

Lily was supposed to keep still, but this is as near as she could manage.

We love it.

Friday night, we had a do-over of mummy's birthday tea. We were all together and had a takeaway in front of the fire. Well worth the wait.

Then on Sunday, Lily stepped up to cook, actually cook on the hob, for the first time.

She made us risotto and very good it was too.

The fire really is a big hit with everyone in the house.
