Another half term break, another chnce to see what Lily has been up to at school. This is a piece of Greek-inspired pottery Lily created.
I've taken pictures like this many times. But it strikes me how much more of the frame Lily takes up these days.
Nanny Maureen and Granddad James came to visit and we all headed off to a lovely garden centre.
Lily was well into selecting plants for our garden.
She chose this big pot of daisies (and they are looking very nice indeed at the edge of the lawn now).
Lily looking bored in a cool chair.
We made the most of an afternoon of sunshine with an impromptu barbecue.
Note how far down that jug of Pimm's is already...
There has been lots of frenzied activity in preparation to Lily's birthday party (hence the title of this post). Lily herself jumped on Mummy's sewing machine to help out.
On Bank Holiday Monday, we headed to the Tropical Wings butterfly house.
Everyone loved the big blue butterflies that flitter about freely inside the hothouse.
Look at that one. No, look at this one!
There are little feeding stations where the butterflies come to stock up.
Mummy was taking some very good shots.
Camera 2! You're on camera 2!
Never mind, here's the shot from camera 1.
Lily headed back to Norfolk, but stayed in touch via Skype.
Nanny Maureen is in the market for a new kitten and Lily was only too happy to help out.
Lily then made her way to Norwich Castle Museum with Papa Jack and Nana Suzie.
There's something crafty going on here.
How to train your dragon.
Lily experienced what it was like to be a prisoner.
No Minecraft videos, no cat, no mattress. These guys had it tough.
Then we got her back. Ready and raring for her ninth birthday party...
