Here are a last few photos of Lily at the age of six.
A quick half term trip to see Nana Suzie.
Uh oh - she's only had a sip of that Coca Cola and she already has a wild look on her face.
The Hoover broke so we had to find an emergency replacement. It was a matter of some urgency as we had to clean the house up, ready for...
...the birthday bash of the year.
And here's the same scene with the addition of a delighted seven year old.
Lily had a whole pile of presents to dig into.
Who's the funky looking donkey?
We didn't even bother wrapping this one.
There was a wonderful moment when Lily opened her first card and exclaimed, "It's an L for Lily!" We suggested she turn it up the other way...
The dining room was also transformed into an undersea kingdom.
And what does an undersea kingdom need?
Here they all are.
Oh no, wait. HERE they all are - a whole bunch of mermaids waiting to have their hair and nails done.
Everyone sitting comfortably. On Lily.
You really can't get a seat for yourself anywhere.
The 'keep all the balloons up in the air at once' game was a hit.
Then it was time for starfish sandwiches, grape seaweed and mermaid juice. Also note the fishtail er fishtails, Mummy sewed for every little girl.
It all went down rather well.
Naturally, a good party needs cakey aplenty.
Ocean cupcakes were the centrepiece.
Very nice they were too.
After a bite, we moved the sparkly curtain into the lounge.
One by one, the girls took turns to burst through, for an en masse rendition of 'Let It Go'.
She's one with the wind and sky.
One last photo and the party was over in a blur.
But the celebrations didn't stop there. Tom and Laura stopped by for late supper and a cuddle with the birthday girl. And next morning, a visit to the beach.
Make sure you get my best side.
Of course, Lily wanted to try out her new big girl's bike as soon as possible.
Happy birthday, lovely girl.
