Seaside special.

Here's a rare sight - Lily taking a moment to chill out.

Shortly after that last photo, Lily went to bed. And a few minutes later, this note fluttered down the stairs...

The school sent home a project to spot things on the walk to school. Considering Lily pretty much hops over the wall, we had to go a special long way round on an early morning nature trail through the park.

Lily made a giant bird at school.

Then she added clouds and a sun for it to fly past at home.

Usually, she's up at half six and once she's up it's all go. This particular day, Lily got up, got into our bed... and went back to sleep.

Move over, Lemmy.

Not only does Lily have her own film review blog, her critiques have even made the revered Dr Mark Kermode laugh on Radio 5's flagship film podcast. Click below to hear:

Today, we were invited to a barbecue by an old college friend of Daddy's.

Gary has a beach hut down on Thorpe Bay, so we wandered along.

Give us a cuddle.

She spells sea shells.

The weather was surprisingly good and several yachts took to the bay.

Intrepid beach explorers.

Lily braved the rock pools.

Adventures over, it was time to roll around in the sand.

A happy day was had by all.
