Long weekend.

Bank Holiday weekend (hurrah! Or hrey, as Lily says). We started with a rainy Saturday and another floor picnic. The old English word for forehead was pate, which Lily has taken very literally.

Lily created a cinema for some of her toys. Here they are all watching the big screen.

Chip and block headed out to the park on a sunnier Sunday.

The Amazing Spidergirl.

The workers take a well earned rest in the herb garden.

They've done an incredible job - look at this fantastic pot of home grown salad leaves.

Lily harvests a few for Daddy to put in our lunch.

Then attention was turned to tidying the shed. Well, Mummy's attention.

Our budding florist put together her own bouquet of dandelions, with one single violet.

Then today (our 'extra Sunday' according to Lily) was nice enough to head out to the beach.

We worked up an appetite by walking all the way to Old Leigh.

So, about that appetite... Leigh was absolutely rammed. But we were lucky enough to get a table down in the courtyard (and Mummy and Daddy had their first crab sandwich of the year).

Good job there was enough crab at the sandwich shop as there were none nipping in the pool. (Apart from one teeny tiny one.)

And then there was this. Our new picnic bench, that didn't remotely conform to the instructions, has a cross brace that's 2cm too short and gave us all blisters. But we did manage to enjoy our dinner on it at the end of the day.
