We did venture out briefly when the weather calmed down. Sure enough, Lily made the best of it.
So. What to do on a rainy weekend? Well, as the pictures pinned up at nursery show, Lily Boo loves to make things.
Today, she made and decorated her letter to Father Christmas.
She's hoping the Postman Pat stickers and stamps will persuade Santa that she'd been good enough to deserve all these lovely things. Daddy did have to do a little prompting. When asked what she wanted, Lily mimed tearing open the paper and said "Wrap." But when asked what would be inside, she said, "um...nothing?"
We braced ourselves for the trek to the post box.
And off it goes to warmer climes - the North Pole.
But even back in the warm, Lily still couldn't avoid one final soaking.
