...for our lovely week in St Ives.

We had been invited down by Jane and David.

They very generously offered us the use of their wonderful apartment looking out over the bay.

And this is what it was all about.

A girl's got to have ice cream on holiday (so Mummy kept saying at any rate).

Boo the Builder (can she fix it?).

The Boo bug loved digging big holes in the sand with Mummy...

...which she had enormous fun diving into, over and over again.
This is the spectacular Minack theatre, set in a cliff face near Land's End, where we saw a charming version of Pinocchio.

"Look Daddy, his nose is nearly as big as yours!"

We paid a flying visit to the Tate St Ives.

We didn't see the collection, but the view from the 4th floor cafe was wonderful and the bacon sandwiches were a work of art.

Even a little rain couldn't stop Lily having fun. (Though it was heartbreakingly funny to watch her digging at the carpet with her little spade when we didn't go down to the beach.)

And that was our first ever family holiday.
Lily Boo had a lovely time. But came back a very sandy girl indeed.
